Bali today (Saturday, March 21) is implementing a quiet ceremony, the atmosphere was like a dead island without inhabitant, as at this time Balinese Hindu community to prohibit all activities of people, both inside and outside the home. Nyepi day from 06.00 until the next morning because of air pollution-free experience none of the vehicles passing on the highway, both in urban and rural areas.

Thousands Ogoh-ogoh scattered in Bali at Pengerupukan Night, Ogoh-ogoh parade has become a party of the people before Nyepi ceremony, ogoh-ogoh ranging from short to look so high that lifted and paraded on a bamboo-shaped plot.


Festive attractions before Nyepi, drums and other musical instruments, boisterous applause and admiration of the audience accompany the witness. The highlight was when Ogoh-ogoh paraded slowly and brought to each banjar, then burned.

Then the fire will soar upwards, as an expression of the expulsion of evil spirits, demons and other evil beings, the street lights turned off slowly, one by one, as a sign of the start of the Nyepi procession.

And Bali becoming much like the dead island.
