Indonesian tourism at WTM London 2013

World Travel Market (WTM) London 2013 that take place at the Excel London, UK, 4-7 November 2013, attended by around 8,000 visitors and 5,000 participants attended from 184 countries with a transaction value of approximately 1,857 million pounds is to be an annual event.

Indonesia realizes that England is Indonesia's market share in Europe in the contribution of the number of tourists followed by Germany, so the Ministry of Tourism excited states participating in the event.

Quoted from travelKompas website, Monday, November 4, 2013, Agustini Rahayu, Deputy Director of Tourism Promotion Special Foreign-Euro Area the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, said the number of British tourists visiting Indonesia during January to August registered an increase of 7.41 per cent 141,509 compared to the same period in 2012 as many as 131,741, "Indonesia is targeting 200,000 tourists from the UK."

Indonesian pavilion in WTM London featuring a replica of the Phinisi boat, which is a traditional sailing boat from Indonesia who came from Bugis and Makassar in South Sulawesi tribe.

Phinisi boat is also regarded as an icon in the exhibition reflect the potential of marine tourism in Indonesia which has been going on before, can be seen from the number of nautical themed tourism events that took place in Indonesia, such as the Sail Bunaken, Sail Banda, Sail Wakatobi-Belitung, Sail Morotai and Sail to Indonesia.

The festive exhibition, even Garuda Indonesia airline soon open the Jakarta-London route that can facilitate British tourist visiting the Indonesian region.

Indonesia is characterized by white sand beaches, palm trees waving in the distance, the waves rolling endlessly as if to welcome their presence, the tourists.
