Ngurah Rai Airport closed during APEC Summit

Given the presence of many heads of state and and official delegations attending the APEC Summit, the Ministry of Transport through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has sent a notice to all airlines, that the Ngurah Rai Airport was closed to all commercial flights.

Schedule is released is starting Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 10.00 to 16.00 pm local time. Meanwhile, on Sunday, October 6, 2013, the airport will be closed from 10:00 am to 20:00 pm local time. On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, the airport will also be closed at 10:00 to 20:00 pm local time and on Wednesday, October 9, at 10:00 to 16:00 pm local time.

Some airlines quickly adjust their flight schedules return destination of Bali. For example, the Indonesian airline, Garuda Indonesia will cancel 139 flights, including flights from Bali to Narita, Osaka and Haneda in Japan as well as a number of flights to Singapore.

Citing a tourism news site Indonesia Travel, Pujobroto - Vice President Communications Garuda Indonesia, said "For domestic flights affected by the closure is the flight from Bali to Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Lombok, Makassar, and a number of flights to Jakarta."

Of course many will transfer flight, Garuda flight 91 will be rescheduled, the number of flights from Bali to Australia and South Korea as well as a number of domestic flights.

What about the passengers? They need to adjust the timetable, so that all goes well. Are advised to check the schedule of arrival and departure on each airline on that date.
