16 Tourist Destinations in Indonesia

In accordance of Indonesian tourism ministry official visit to several Asian countries, such as Japan, China, and Korea in the framework of cooperation with these countries, in order to increase investment, economy, and businesses relationships which established tourist destination in Indonesia.

For instance, South Korea is one of the target countries of Indonesia showed an increase in number of tourists visit every year. In 2012 Indonesia received 296,060 tourists from South Korea, and the following year the number was increased by 7.24 percent.

Most South Korean tourists choosing Bali, Jakarta, Batam, Surabaya and Medan as a tourist destination.

Bilateral cooperation between the countries become stronger economically and politically since the establishment of diplomatic ties between them. Here is the list of the 16 Indonesian tourism destination priority:

1. Lake Toba in North Sumatra
2. Oud Batavia, Old Town in the heart of Jakarta
3. Borobudur Temple
4. Bromo Tengger and Semeru, East Java
5. Lake Batur in Kintamani
6. Menjangan Island, the temple is located below the Sea of Pemuteran
7. Kuta, Sanur and Nusa Dua
8. Mount Rinjani
9. Komodo National Park in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara
10. Ende Flores located in East Nusa Tenggara
11. The Thousand Islands are located in Jakarta, the cluster of 76 islands reefs
12. Toraja in South Sulawesi
13. Bunaken located in North Sulawesi
14. Wakatobi in South Sulawesi
15. Raja Ampat in West Papua that is famous for its diversity of marine
16. Tanjung Puting National Park in Central Kalimantan


Tourism is an appropriate bridge to build mutual understanding between the countries in the world.
